Anthony Country Club Code of Conduct

  1. Introduction
    1. This document establishes clear and acceptable behavior expectations for Anthony Country Club members and guests. It is not intended to restrict the rights of anyone, but rather to ensure that all members and guests can expect to be treated with respect while enjoying the Anthony Country Club golf course and clubhouse.
Upon payment of membership or green fees, all members and guests consent to be bound by the restrictions and penalties outlined in this Code of Conduct. Anthony Country Club strongly discourages any form of racial, sexual, religious, or other discrimination. This Code of Conduct promotes the protection and respectful treatment of all Members, guests, Board Members, and employees.
Violations of these rules should be reported directly to Club Management or a Board Member.
  2. Code of Conduct
    1. All members and guests shall:
      1. Conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner at all times — behaving fairly and showing respect toward other players, staff, and competitors. This includes refraining from cheating, throwing clubs, or disrespecting employees, officials, or fellow golfers.
      2. Respect the rights of other players and golf course staff. Members and guests will not verbally or physically threaten, slander, harass (sexually, physically, or verbally), or engage in any offensive or unwanted behavior toward any Member, employee, or guest — either in person or through social media.
      3. Observe proper golf etiquette as well as USGA and local rules of the course (e.g., following cart path signs, not hitting into the group ahead, repairing ball marks and divots, raking bunkers, etc.).
      4. Respect the golf course, golf carts, and all club facilities.
      5. Adhere to all club rules, including but not limited to:
        1. Proper sign-in procedures in the Golf Shop.
        2. Safe operation of rental carts in designated areas only.
        3. Obtaining staff approval before starting on any hole other than Hole #1.
        4. Obeying all signage on the golf course.
        5. No outside alcoholic beverages permitted on club property (per NM State Statute 60-7A-13).
        6. Refraining from rude, immoral, or disrespectful conduct, including the use of profane language, gestures, or insults.
        7. Abide by all applicable state, local, and federal laws, including those regarding illegal drugs and weapons on club property.
        8. Act as positive ambassadors for Anthony Country Club both on and off the property.
        9. Use social media (including Facebook, WhatsApp, club website, etc.) responsibly. Any conduct or communication that violates this Code of Conduct or harms the club’s reputation may result in loss of privileges.
  3. Resolution of Violations
    1. Upon receipt of a report of a violation, the matter will be placed on the Board Meeting agenda for closed-session discussion. The accused member(s) will be notified of the complaint and given 7 business days to respond or request a closed-session hearing.
    2. After review, the Board may impose one or more of the following actions:
      1. Limit or suspend club privileges for a specified period (without reimbursement).
      2. Terminate membership.
      3. Require monetary restitution for any damages caused to club property.
      4. Property damage will require full monetary restitution before membership privileges can continue.
